Yesterday I woke up at 6:00am to the sound of water running in the kids bathroom.  I could tell it was on full blast.  I thought “ugh!”  But then, Wait – maybe one of my older kids had gotten up to use the bathroom and was now washing their hands.  Crossing fingers.  I don’t want to get up yet.  I waited.  Something was in the stream of water, then out… will it be turned off? … Nope.  The water had been on long enough that it could only be one person in that bathroom.  My little 2yo.

When I opened my bedroom door I had the full view of the scene.  A naked little body up on the stool so she could reach the sink.  The mirror in front of her dripping water.  Pajamas nowhere in sight.  A diaper, full of yellow, was laying on the counter next to her with her toothbrush in it.  Eww!  Other toothbrushes were scattered around or in her hand.

When I went to bed that night I had one wish.  Not to be woken up the same way again.

Well I got my wish, but as it goes with wishes, the devil is in the details.  This morning at 5:30am my darling little tot climbed into my bed.  Then her diaper over filled and leaked a big puddle of pee right between my husband and I.

My little alarm clock.  Always something new, and always too early.  Good thing she’s so cute.
